LAS VEGAS, Nevada — If you want to buy a season premium seat at the A’s new stadium on the Strip, it will cost the price of the seat and you will have to pay for a “Personal Seat License” or “PSL.”
It’s not a surprise because LVSportsBiz.com reported last year the A’s were thinking about charging for PSLs. The PSL will cost thousands of dollars with the exact cost tied to the seat’s location.
Overseeing the PSLs will be A’s team president Marc Badain, who was the president of the Raiders, which charged PSLs for all season ticket deals at the Raiders stadium in Las Vegas. Those PSLs were a major moneymaker for the Raiders, which garnered $549.2 million in PSL revenues — money that helped pay the $1.4 billion stadium construction budget.
The A’s stadium is a $2 billion project on nine acres of the 35-acre site. The A’s are seeking investors and revenue sources to help pay for the construction of the domed ballpark on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue where the former Tropicana hotel-casino was located.
The stadium board agreed to approve the deal with the A’s on PSLs. Badain said about five or six MLB teams have PSLs. Board members did not ask Badain a question. The Raiders and A’s have an easy ride before the stadium board here in Las Vegas.
Badain presented a graphic that said $989 million in construction work has been contracted and A’s executive Sandy Dean said more than $300 million has actually been spent.
Dean said elements like the parking garage and the plaza will be done on time for the 2028 MLB season. The A’s are playing in a Triple-A ballpark in West Sacramento, California in 2026 and 2027 while the stadium is built in Las Vegas. The A’s do have two three-game series against the Rockies and Brewers at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin in June in Las Vegas.
Badain said the A’s has sold out most of the six-game packages for June.
Besides those six A’s game in Las Vegas in 2026, there are two A’s preseason games at Las Vegas ballpark in early March.
There were some other interesting notes from the meeting. Take a look at the hotel room tax revenues that are collected to pay off the Southern Nevada 30-year public debt on Raiders stadium construction. The drop in tourism in Las Vegas in 2025 meant a drop in tax revenues to pay off the debt:
