LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The annual CES show, the mega-tech razzle-dazzle event in Las Vegas, attracted 148,000 plus attendees including 6,900 media to check out more than 4,100 exhibitors.

And the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the government agency charged with attracting tourists to Las Vegas and Southern Nevada, did not even have to spend a nickel in public dollars to sponsor the event.

The LVCVA spends tens of millions of dollars on sport events like $55 million for the Super Bowl, more than $20 million for the F1 care race on the Strip and $6 million to WWE for Wrestlemania.

But interestingly enough, the biggest trade show of the year — CES — does not receive any LVCVA sponsorship money even though it attracts more visitors than some sports events that do receive LVCVA sponsorship dollars.

CES also draws thousands of international visitors. Its last day was Friday. It was a good day to stay away from the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Venetian Expo convention center if you were not part of the CES event because the traffic was congested this week.

The 148,000 plus attendees included 6,900 media.

The show included a lot of displays on AI, robots, electrical equipment, mobility devices and hundreds of startup products.
