LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The LVCVA returns next week to doling out the big public dollars to sports events with plans to give $6 million to WWE for WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in April 2026 and spend $1,250,000 on F1 race tickets for LVCVA’s contacts and “customers” for this month’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) board is expected to approve these sports expenditures at its monthly meeting Nov. 12, Wednesday. Board members typically do not ask questions on the LVCVA spending money.

The LVCVA is Las Vegas’ public tourism agency. It collects money from hotel room fees and spends it to promote the Las Vegas hospitality industry.

LVCVA CEO Steve Hill loves WrestleMania. He talked about WrestleMania’s benefits for Las Vegas during past LVCVA board meetings.  He was happy in June when he told the LVCVA board the pro wrestling mega event was returning to Las Vegas in April 2026. Here’s the meeting agenda item on the $6 million the LVCVA plans to give to WWE, which puts on these high-profile pro wrestling events:

The LVCVA, already spending $20 million on F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix sponsorships, wants to spend $1.25 million on F1 tickets to give to “LVCVA customers, destination partners and stakeholders” for the road race event set for Nov. 20-22.
