LAS VEGAS, Nevada — They have a building right off the 215 bicycle trail in the suburban Summerlin area outside Las Vegas. In fact, I used to ride my bicycle all the time past the structure while it was under construction near where Hualapai Way spans the 215 beltway.

At the beginning, I thought it was condos.

But it turned out to be the North American headquarters of Aristocrat gambling machine maker, or as the company likes to call itself, “a global gaming and technology company.” Aristocrat is on the LVSportsBiz.com radar because the company debuted NFL-themed gambling machines two years ago.

At G2E world gambling trade show, Aristocrat had an impressive display and it absolutely cracked me up that the company lined up women to block people from entering the display.

No entry. Do not pass go. Nobody can see the great and powerful Wizard of Aristocrat.

But lucky for me I met a friendly chap of a media member, Richard Hollis, who told me about Aristocrat PR representative Paul Speirs-Hernandez, who, in turn, filled me in about an Aristocrat tour at 3 PM. And during this tour, we learned that Aristocrat is coming out with its seventh NFL version gambling machine with the blessings of the NFL and NFL Players Association.

The tour leader, an enthusiastic lady by the name of Lauren O’Brien, said the new NFL version will be ready for 2026.

G2E is the Woodstock of gambling where these high-tech companies dole out free chocolates, Coca-Cola and beers to butter up customers.

It’s an electronic light feast, with a strong international favor.

There’s always the unusual exhibitor, like Puyallup Chocolates, owned by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians in the state of Washington.  A very friendly woman and her friend Eddie, who plays the viola instrument, were at G2E handing out everything from chocolate-covered cherries to chocolate mints.

We will return Wednesday for more G2E action.
