LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Aces are rolling.
The Aces won their fifth straight Wednesday night with an 83-77 win over nemesis New York Liberty. It was also win number seven out of the last eight for the Aces.
Major game points to consider:
^ The Aces trailed entering the fourth quarter, but outscored New York, 22-14, to secure the win.
^ Las Vegas improved to 19-14 and is climbing the WNBA standings ladder, now in fifth place in the 13-team league.
^ A’ja Wilson struggled from the field on three for 14 shooting, but she hit all 11 free throws and finished with 17 points.
^ Jewell Loyd came off the bench to lead the Aces with 21 points, including five three-pointers.
^ Wilson grabbed 16 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass.
^ The Aces snapped a six-game losing streak to New York, which played without their star, Breanna Stewart.
^ It was the 42nd straight sellout at Michelob Ultra Arena.
^ The fourth quarter saw both teams struggle with their shots.The Liberty sank 4 of 16 from the floor, while the Aces hit 3 of 15. The Aces connected on 15 of 18 from the line compared to 5 of 5 for the Liberty.
