LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The NHL Vegas Golden Knights and WNBA Las Vegas Aces are playing games a mere mile apart in the Strip Tuesday evening and both are pitching some marketing and promotion deals.

The VGK, through their secondary ticket contractor, Pogoseat, texted signed-up fans with ticket deals for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Round 2 at T-Mobile Arena, while the Aces are using their preseason game against Phoenix to celebrate their superstar, A’ja Wilson, releasing her Nike “Pink A’ura” A’One shoe. The first 8,000 fans entering Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay will receive a free A’One t-shirt.

The Aces also have other game promotions for the Wilson sneaker such as free rally towels, while the first 500 fans wearing A’One shoes will receive A’One shoelery to mark the shoe launch.

After the Golden Knights knocked out a very feisty and competitive Minnesota Wild team in six games (two VGK wins came in OT) in Round 1, the Vegas squad takes on an Edmonton Oilers team that lost to the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final in seven games in 2024.

Pogoseat, a company contracted by the Golden Knights to sell available game tickets, Monday informed fans with a text alert that upper level seats are available for $140, mezzanine seats are $175 and lower level seats are $275.  An advantage is that there are no fees with the Pogoseat deal. Ticket fees can account for another 30 percent of the ticket price.

The ticket prices increase from round to round if the Golden Knights advance. For example, many tickets for lower bowl seats cost more than $500 each for Round 2. VGK owner Bill Foley shares the postseason ticket revenues with the National Hockey League. The Knights contacted season ticket holders to clarify its postseason ticket price policy.

The Aces game starts at 7 PM. The WNBA team opens the 44-game 2025 regular season on the road at New York in a high-profile game against the defending champion Liberty May 17 at 10AM Vegas time on ABC-TV. The WNBA season is expanding from 40 to 44 games this season.

The Golden Knights-Oilers game is set for 6:30 PM Tuesday. The VGK-Edmonton winner of the Best-of-Seven series will play the Dallas Stars-Winnipeg Jets winner in the Western Conference Final.

Both the Knights and Aces now sell out their home games routinely, but there are tickets on the secondary market.
