LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The A’s open a new chapter in their rich franchise history in only a week, launching their 2025 season as a non-Oakland-based MLB team for the first time in 57 years.

The Athletics will make their 2025 debut March 27 in Seattle against the Mariners, while working on marketing plans on two fronts — getting a Triple-A ballpark ready in Sacramento for the A’s home-opener March 31 while setting the foundation for the franchise’s future in Las Vegas.

Toward that end, the A’s are holding a season-opener watch party March 27 at Lovelady Brewing Company on Water Street in Henderson.

The Athletics will have staff at the brewery’s watch party to answer questions about the planned stadium for the Strip, where the team is planning a domed stadium with 33,000 capacity on the former Tropicana hotel site at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.

The A’s, which date back to 1901, are pitching a deal where fans can pay $19.01 to gain a priority access spot to buy season tickets at the new stadium on the Strip that is supposed to be ready for the 2028 MLB season.

The A’s have not ruled out selling personal seat licenses to generate revenue to help build the $1.75 billion stadium, which includes a $380 million public subsidy under a state-approved bill in 2023. It should be noted the A’s say they will use $350 million of the $380 million designated in the state bill.

The A’s have already met with potential stadium construction vendors as the Mortenson/McCarthy construction team prepares to lead the building process for the stadium after the 35-acre site is cleared of all debris.

LVSportsBiz.com went by the site on the Strip only a few days ago.

The site is nearly cleared, with the A’s telling the public that a groundbreaking will be held in either Aoril, May or June for this planned stadium:

A’s owner John Fisher said he’s pursuing partners to help finance the stadium on the Strip.

Fisher has said he would like local partners.
