LAS VEGAS, Nevada — As this sports market has matured into a market that hosts major league teams to go along with its past of car racing, rodeos, UFC and boxing, the gentrification of the sports market has grown, too.

NFL Raiders and NHL Golden Knights tickets are easily more than $100, while annual one-off events like the Formula 1 race pitch tickets that cost in the thousands of dollars.

That’s where UNLV comes in, along with teams like the volleyball Thrill at Lee’s Family Forum arena in Henderson and the minor league baseball Aviators at Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin.

It didn’t take UNLV long to enlist new head football coach Dan Mullen for radio commercials for UNLV football games for 2025. UNLV is hawking a $195 special for the team’s six home games at Allegiant Stadium where you can watch a game for about $33 a ticket.

Meanwhile, UNLV has a four-pack for Saturday games for parents to bring their kids that costs only $52. The deal includes four tickets and four chicken finger baskets for Saturday games like today’s UNLV 66-53 win over UC Riverside. The Runnin’ Rebels won six of their 11 pre-conference play games and host Fresno State Dec. 28.

The Thrill said tickets start at $15 and the women’s pro volleyball team opens its 28-match regular season by hosting the Grand Rapids Rise Jan. 10.
