LAS VEGAS, Nevada — At the ripe old age of eight, the Golden Knights are a club that does not panic when it falls behind.

VGK were hosting a talented Vancouver Canucks club, which jumped out to a 1-0 lead thanks to scrappy fourth line center Teddy Blueger’s goal in close against Knights netminder Adin Hill midway though the first period.

Vegas trailed, 1-0, after one period.

The team showcased the hit Netflix series, Squid Game, at tonight’s game.

It took a while. But the Knights began to increase the pressure on Vancouver goalie Kevin Lankinen.

Ultimately, Vegas lit the lamp when defenseman Alex Pietrangelo blasted a shot into the twine to lock the game at one apiece after two periods.

In period three, Vegas stuck with the system and eventually the Knights’ Misfit, William Karlsson, made a nice individual effort to score from the edge of the blue paint to give the VGK a 2-1 advantage.

Hill played solid throughout and closed the deal.

Brett Howden added an empty-netter and that was your ballgame.

It was a final: Vegas 2 Vancouver 1 with attendance announced at 17,779.

VGK improved to 21-8-3 for 45 points and lead the division.

Vancouver fell to 16-10-5 and remain at 37 points.

VGK head coach Bruce Cassidy

Postgame: Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said he was not thrilled about his team’s sluggish start. But he also mentioned the Golden Knights did not panic and relied on Hill’s stellar save to keep the deficit at only 1-0 after the first 20 minutes.
