The big car race is coming to the Strip corridor next month.
And that means traffic on the Strip and along the race course on Koval Lane is going to be unpleasant in the coming days and weeks as Formula’s county-approved 17-week transportation plan moves along with more prep work.
The big change will be the Koval Lane-Flamingo Road intersection that will be closed Oct. 13 Sunday to Oct. 19 Saturday while F1 and the county installs a temporary bridge on Flamingo Road spanning Koval.
This from the Las Vegas Grand Prix about the impact at businesses at and near that intersection: “there will be limited access to all local businesses and residences.”
Here’s how the race thinks people can reach the affected businesses:

The Strip in front of the Bellagio will have two southbound lanes closed from Flamingo Road to Bellagio Drive as the hotel builds a fancy suite structure for fans to watch the grand prix. The sidewalk in front of the Bellagio will be closed, too.
Businesses in the Strip corridor where the grand prix is staged were hurt last year when the inaugural F1 race was held.
The F1 race event prompted lawsuits from four businesses that alleged they lost millions of dollars in revenues caused the lack of access and traffic problems created by the grand prix. At least two more lawsuits against F1 and Clark County are expected to be filed, LVSportsBiz.com has learned.
The F1 event for the 90-minute, 50-lap grand prix race is Nov. 21-23.
