LAS VEGAS, Nevada — UNLV’s top sponsorship official is expecting 29,000-30,000 fans for tonight’s Syracuse-UNLV football game at Allegiant Stadium.
Dan Dolby, Learfield General Manager for UNLV, provided the numbers.
UNLV has entered the AP poll at number 25, and has become a more relevant force on the Las Vegas sports landscape thanks to a four-wins-in-four-game start.
Even with a starting quarterback leaving after the first three wins, UNLV did not miss a beat with new quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams, a transfer from Campbell, at the helm of a 59-point onslaught of Fresno State a mere six days ago here in Las Vegas.

The spirited crowd at Allegiant Stadium watched Syracuse ambush the Rebels behind the accurate throwing of Orange quarterback Kyle McCord.
He completed his first 11 tosses and Stracuse led, 14-0, after one period.
Then the Rebels countered.
UNLV ripped off 21 straight points to take a 21-14 lead in the second quarter before the Orange tacked on a short field goal in the final seconds of the first half.
After 30 minutes of an entertaining game, it was UNLV 21 Syracuse 17.

The start of the third quarter was a disaster for UNLV.
Syracuse marched down the field to take a 24-21 lead before Williams threw a pass that was picked off.
The Orange ran the ball in on the very next play and just like that Syracuse took a 31-21 lead.
