Antonio Pierce says he’s not one to “bite his tongue” when it comes to sharing his opinions on issues.

But late Wednesday morning, he strolled into a media presser at Raiders headquarters and was asked what he told his players about what he meant about players making business decisions in a postgame comment in response to an LVSportsBiz.com question.

Pierce said his comments to players will stay “in house.”

Raiders receiver Davante Adams had this to say about the meeting: “I mean, what happens in our meetings stays in our meeting rooms, but there was obviously a lot of accountability and a lot of discussion and different things like that, just communication in general to get on the same page.”

The Raiders’ lack of a pushback in the second half of a one-sided loss to a weak Carolina Panthers team Sunday was disconcerting to Pierce, who led the Silver & Black to a 5-4 record in the final nine games of 2023 and a stunning 26-23 comeback win against a stout Baltimore Ravens club a mere week before the embarrassing defeat to Carolina.

The Raiders have lost two of their first three games and play Cleveland at Allegiant Stadium Sunday before returning to the road to play the Broncos in Denver.

It was hot outdoors as the team stretched and practiced.

Missing were star defensive end Maxx Crosby and linebacker Divine Deablo — two key members of the defensive squad.

Pierce also said Gardner Minshew II will remain as quarterback against the Browns.

Raiders owner Mark Davis has a schedule conflict — both of his teams, the Raiders and Aces, ar playing Sunday.

The Raiders play the Browns at 1:25 PM Vegas time and the Aces play the New York Liberty in Game 1 of the WNBA Best-of-5 semifinals Sunday, too.

Davis told LVSportsBiz.com he will be in Las Vegas because the “Raiders need me.”
