The Las Vegas Aces are rolling into the WNBA Playoffs with five straight wins to end the 40-game regular season as the Aces reserves posted 98 points in a decisive win over Dallas Sunday.

With the Connecticut Sun easily defeating Chicago today, the Aces are a four seed and will play the fifth-seeded Seattle Storm in Round 1, Game 1 Sunday at Mandalay Bay’s Michelob Ultra Arena.

“I really like the direction we’re headed,” Aces coach Becky Hammon said after the 98-84 win over Dallas Thursday. “This team is probably the most talented since I’ve been here.”

Here’s your WNBA postseason schedule:

The Aces bench players performed wonderfully as the Las Vegas Olympic quartet of A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young sat this one out  as coach Becky Hammon started the reserves against a depleted Dallas Wings club.

Megan Gustafson poured in 24 and even blocked a shot that prompted her to break out the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag.

Tiffany Hayes added 21 points, while guard Sydney Colson scored 13. Kierstan Bell had 12 and Alysha Clark had 10.

The Aces struggled at times this season, winning six and losing six in the first 12 games when their point guard, Gray, was out recovering from her foot injury.

After the 6-6 start, the Aces pulled things together and finished 27-13, going 21-7 after the first dozen games.

Their fans include former Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak.

The Aces were led by Wilson, a certain league MVP, which would be her third in her illustrious career.

She has bloomed into a superstar, heralded as the world’s best women’s player while retaining her humble style.
