UFC President Dana White ia a close friend of former President Donald Trump and the man who runs the Las Vegas-based MMA fight show organization said he will introduce Trump at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Thursday.

White expressed his support for Trump in a post on Instagram Saturday after there was an assassination attempt on Trump at the former president’s campaign rally in western Pennsylvania. The gunman and a bystander are dead. Trump was injured in his right ear.

White said Saturday he was on a plane bound for Italy when he found out about the assassination attempt on Trump’s life.

“I am absolutely SICK to my stomach and in complete shock,” White wrote in his post.

White spoke of his friend, Trump: “He is the toughest most resilient AMERICAN BAD ASS on this planet. I hope the weak coward that shot him gets what he deserves, and I can’t WAIT to stand up on stage with him on Thursday and introduce him at the Republican National Convention and tell the WORLD exactly the character of the friend and man I KNOW!!”

Trump attends UFC fight events and White joined Trump on Air Force One in 2020 for a campaign trail stop.

White and Trump go back more than 20 years when he said UFC fight shows were held at Trump hotel properties in New Jersey.
