The Raiders and the Golden Knights came together to play softball Saturday night and raise money for several charities.
“At the end of the day, the community wins,” VGK’s Jack Eichel said. “It’s a great event overall.”
It’s the Battle For Vegas charity softball game at Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin.
The big crowd raised money for the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation with charities including Best Buddies Nevada and other local charities.
The first charity softball game was in 2019 and has raised more than $850,000 for nonprofits before Saturday. A game spokesperson said $225,000 was raised from this game.
Ticket prices for the Battle for Vegas Charity Softball Game began at $35 per ticket. It was a near sellout at the minor league stadium of the Las Vegas Aviators and Team Eichel won the game.
The MLB Athletics, which plan on building a domed $1.5 billion stadium on the Strip for the 2028 season, had their mascot at the charity event and contributed $50,000.
