A UFC fight show’s name will be rebranded thanks to a title sponsor.
UFC 306 at Sphere Las Vegas Sept. 14 is also known as Riyadh Season Noche UFC. Mexican Independence Day is in September.
Riyadh Season, a festival in Saudi Arabia’s capital, bought the naming rights.
UFC bossman Dana White declined to say how much the naming rights delivered in revenue to the MMA fight show promoter.
Keep in mind UFC is spending more than $20 million to stage the fight show at the Sphere on Sands Avenue just off the Strip in September.
When LVSportsBiz.com asked White how much is Riyadh Season paying for the title sponsorship, the UFB boss responded, “Enough to make the number ($20 million plus) not sting as much.”
For paying to be UFC 306’s title sponsor, Riyadh Season will have a fixed watermark displayed throughout the entire broadcast, from early prelims to the main card on Pay Per View.
Plus, Riyadh Season will have high visibility placement inside the Octagon.
UFC just held UFC 303 at T-Mobile Arena Saturday.
The NHL held its two-day player draft event at the Sphere Friday and Saturday. UFC says its Sept. 14 fight show is the first sports event at the Sphere, which is a ball-shaped music venue with massive video screens inside. But the National Hockey League just staged its draft there.
