The two-time WNBA titleholder Las Vegas Aces will start the 2024 season with a championship banner-hanging ceremony, a new multi-million-dollar partnership with Ally Financial and new uniforms that will include the first sponsorship jersey patch under the franchise’s Mark Davis regime..

If you’ve seen them already, you’ve likely made the connection to the NFL team Davis also owns. There’s a lot of silver and black in the Aces’ new unis — with silver also connecting to the color used by the team’s San Antonio roots and even Nevada’s nickname, the Silver State.

The new white and silver “Heroine” uniform will debut along with a black “Rebel” addition when the WNBA’s defending champs kick off their season in May.

The team has said it’s not entirely ditching the traditional Aces red jerseys and will unveil an updated version later this week.

It’s worth noting that the Aces wore an MGM Resorts jersey patch from 2018-2020 and a WNBA league wide AT&T “belly patch” through 2020. However, were sans a patch partner during its back-to-back title runs in 2022 and 2023 when Davis owned the team.

The sports business landscape in Las Vegas continues to evolve with the recent partnership between the Aces and Ally Financial. According to the team, in addition to the Ally jersey patches, that partnership includes:

  • A multimillion dollar investment (team declined to give a specific number)
  • Permanent and LED signage at Michelob Ultra Arena
  • Media backdrop inclusion
  • Regional TV ads
  • Digital presence on the Aces website
  • Presenting sponsor of the Aces Community Corner
  • Aces players Alysha Clark and Sydney Colson have been named Ally brand ambassadors

The nation’s largest all-digital bank also plans to leverage this partnership through a variety of fan-centric activations, including sweepstakes, themed nights, and community outreach initiatives.

Ally’s Chief Marketing and Public Relations Officer, Andrea Brimmer, explained why they chose to partner with the Aces: “There’s almost an America’s team feel with the Aces, and I know they have not only national aspirations but global aspirations. I also think it’s because of the way the Aces as an organization have shown up in terms of the level of investment in the facility, in paying Becky Hammon what a female coach deserves, in the way they pay their players, front office staff. So, we wanted to align with a team that shows up the way that we do.”

Brimmer added that partnering with the Aces was strategic, considering the city’s growing sports landscape.

“Vegas is a hot sports town right now. If you’re going to be part of a WNBA team, I can’t think of a better place than Vegas to do that,” she said.

Aces President Nikki Fargas shared the excitement for the business partnership’s future and its impact on the WNBA team and even on the sport of basketball.

“Right now, we have over 8,500 seats sold, which is trending us to sell out for the regular season,” Fargas said. She also highlighted the involvement of players Sydney Colson and Alysha Clark with Ally, aiming to deepen the engagement with fans and foster the growth of women’s basketball.

Ally is already a WNBA partner and has said its commercials during 2024 WNBA telecasts will boost its female sports investment to close to 48 percent. The Aces kick off their 2024 season on May 14 against the Phoenix Mercury.

The Aces also said Thursday the team has sold out it season ticket deals.
