As if getting moved by your company is supposed to make you feel better.
For original Misfit Reilly Smith, the man who celebrated winning a Stanley Cup championship about two weeks ago when he hoisted the trophy after the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Florida Panthers in five games, it meant learning he was off to Pittsburgh for a third round draft pick.
It was an obvious salary dump to clear space for the signing of Ivan Barbashev, the proud owner of a $25 million contract at five years at $5 million per year.
Smith was nothing but a professional on the ice — and off it.
