The National Hockey League’s topsy-turvy playoffs have the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Edmonton Oilers at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday and Saturday in Games 1 and 2 of the Best-of-7 series in the conference semifinals.

On Thursday, the Golden Knights clinched their Round 1 series against Winnipeg in five games.

On Saturday, the Oilers knocked out the Los Angeles Kings for win their series in six games.

As is the practice in NHL playoffs, playoff ticket prices go up as a team advances through the postseason.

In four regular season games, the Knights defeated the Oilers once, lost to Edmonton twice and earned a point with a regulation tie before losing in OT.

The Stanley Cup playoffs have been unpredictable, with the Boston Bruins losing to the Florida Panthers in a Game 7 Sunday after setting NHL records for most wins and points during the regular season. VGK coach Bruce Cassidy was Boston’s coach last season before he was fired.

Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche, the defending Cup winner, lost to Seattle in a Game 7 in Denver Sunday, setting up the other Western Conference semifinals between the Kraken and the Dallas Stars, coached by former VGK coach Pete DeBoer.
