It’s common for teams that win a championship to generate more revenues and ticket sales in the season following the title.
The Aces are favorites to repeat as league champions by adding star Candace Parker to a dazzling lineup that includes two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Plum and Jackie Young.
The Aces, owned by Raiders owner Mark Davis, are coached by one of pro basketball’s most prominent coaches — Becky Hammon. The NBA Toronto Raptors have received permission to interview Hammon for their open coaching job.
The Aces open defense of their WNBA title in Seattle against the Storm on May 20. The WNBA season is now 40 games, up from 36.
