Raiders fans gathered at the Cosmopolitan’s Marquee Las Vegas on the Strip for the NFL Draft for a look at the Raiders’ seventh overall pick — Tyree Wilson, an edge rusher from Texas Tech.

Wilson enjoyed the moment, picking up NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell moments after his name was called.

Just the facts on Wilson:

Comments from Wilson after he was selected:

The faithful, who watched the Raiders struggle to a 6-11 record in 2022, cheered when Wilson’s name was called. Here are some reaction photos:

Former Raiders greats like Fred Biletnikoff, Marcus Allen and Jim Plunkett joined the fans, season ticket holders and team sponsors to watch the NFL Draft, which was staged here in Las Vegas a year ago at a Caesars Entertainment property on the west side of the Strip.

The Raiders need help on defense, so a defensive player was not a surprise. The Raiders’ defense ranked 26th out of 32 teams, allowing 24.6 points per game.
