Well, Las Vegas, you do have an unbeaten UNLV basketball team to enjoy.

The Vegas Golden Knights got hammered in the third period Wednesday when the New York Rangers scored four goals to win, 5-1.

And then the Raiders one-upped the VGK tonight by blowing a 16-3 lead in the last three and a half minutes in Los Angeles and painfully watched a quarterback who showed up at the Rams doorstep two days ago lead the defending Super Bowl champs to an improbable 17-16 win over Las Vegas.

Rams coach Sean McVay stood at the post-game mic and seemed as shocked as anyone: “I’m still, like, what the hell is going on right now?”

A frustrated Josh McDaniels could only say, “We didn’t finish the game.”

The Raiders have found a stunning array of ways to blow leads of at least 13 points to the Rams, Jaguars, Chiefs and Cardinals in losing these four games.

But former Cleveland and Carolina quarterback Baker Mayfield leading a 98-yard two-minute drill winning touchdown driver ala Tom Brady was as surreal as it gets. But it happened because of dumb Raiders penalties and a winning Mayfield TD toss with nine seconds left in the fourth quarter.

“We have work to do, it’s as simple as that,” Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby said. “It’s all self-inflicted. It is what it is. It sucks.”

The Raiders are 5-8 and play the New England Patriots at Allegiant Stadium on Dec. 18.
