Poor Mark Davis. The dude just can’t catch a break from the schedule makers.
His Las Vegas Raiders and Las Vegas Aces have had not one but two dates in August when both of the teams he owns played at the same time.
On Aug. 14, the Raiders played the Vikings at Allegiant Stadium and the Aces played Seattle in the final regular season game at Michelob Ultra Arena. Davis watched the Aces defeat Seattle before heading to the football stadium to see his Raiders defeat the Vikings.
On Aug. 20. the Raiders were in Miami playing the Dolphins in a preseason game, while the Aces played Phoenix in a playoff game. Davis stayed in Las Vegas and watched the Aces easily defeat the Phoenix Mercury by 37 points.
But now the NFL and WNBA schedule makers pulled the ultimate double whammy on Davis.
The Aces defeated the Seattle Storm to advance to the WNBA Finals. Game 1 of the series will be Sept. 11 at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas at 12 noon — the same day that the Raiders are scheduled to open their NFL season against the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles at 1:25 PM.
WNBA FInals Game 1 vs NFL season-opener.
Hmm, interesting choice for Davis.
It’s conceivable that Davis can watch the Aces’ Game 1 vs either Chicago or Connecticut from 12 noon to 2 PM and then hightail it to the nearby airport for a quick flight to LAX, which is not too far from SoFi Stadium, to catch the second half of the Raiders-Chargers season-opener.
LVSportsBiz.com has reached out to Davis through the Raiders PR and if we hear back we will let you know about his plans for Sept. 11.
