NBA Reporter Says G League Team Ignite Looking To Move To Dollar Loan Center Arena In Henderson

Always hungry for programming, the new arena in Henderson that’s run by Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley’s sports and entertainment organization is looking to hook up with a G League basketball team.
Veteran NBA writer Marc Spears tweeted Tuesday that the Ignite of the G League “are likely moving” from its base in Walnut Creek, California to 6,000-seat Dollar Loan Center arena in the Green Valley Ranch area of Henderson.
Technically speaking, the city of Henderson owns the arena near The District shopping hub and Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino. But Foley’s sports and entertainment entity runs the venue that houses Foley’s minor league hockey Henderson Silver Knights (the VGK affiliate) and the Vegas Knight Hawks of the Indoor Football League.
The DLC arena made its sports debut in March with college basketball’s Big West hoops tournament.
The G League is the NBA’s minor league system and the Ignite is not affiliated with an NBA team.
In fact, three Ignite players were selected in the recent 2022 NBA draft, including Jaden Hardy, the former basketball star at Coronado High School in Henderson.
Speaking of the NBA, the NBA Summer League is starting its July 7-17 run at Thomas & Mack Center Thursday.
