The National Hockey League is starting their Holiday Break a little early because of more COVID-19 infections and virus issues around the league.
That means Thursday’s Los Angeles Kings at Vegas Golden Knights game scheduled for T-Mobile Arena Thursday is off.
The NHL’s regular-season schedule resumes Monday, Dec. 27.
It’s kind of a mini-pause compared to the March 2020 coronavirus pause that resulted the Golden Knights playing in the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoff bubble in Edmonton.
Here’s the NHL’s statement: “With no games currently scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 22, because of COVID-related postponements, the National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players’ Association have agreed to postpone the five games that remain scheduled on Thursday, Dec. 23, in order to begin the collectively-bargained Holiday Break effective with the conclusion of games tomorrow night, Dec. 21.”

The NHL had already shut down games with the Canadiens, Blue Jackets, Maple Leafs, Red Wings and others through the holiday break.
The Knights do have a scheduled game with the defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena.
So far, that VGK vs Tampa game is still on. For now.
