The team from Omaha, Nebraska won a mere game out of 10 coming into Wednesday’s scrap with the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, but Omaha hung around most of the game before the Rebs finally pulled away in the latter stages of the second half.
UNLV improved to 7-5 after the 84-71 win before a few thousand fans on Fan Appreciation Night at Thomas & Mack Center tonight.
The Rebs are starting to create an identity where top scorer Bryce Hamilton (26 points) is aided by Royce Hamm, Jr. (16 points) on the inside and long and athletic Donovan Williams (12 points).
The Rebels offered $16 upper bowl tickets this week for tonight’s game, but it will take a consistent string of wins for UNLV to return to packing Thomas & Mack.
