When the Las Vegas Raiders send out a press release with “mind-blowing” and “unique stunt” in the first paragraph, it could only mean one thing.
No, the public’s contribution of $750 million to build Allegiant Stadium will not magically disappear, Instead, Las Vegas magician Criss Angel is scheduled to attempt to pull off a trick with a scope that is comparable to the size of Allegiant Stadium itself.
The Raiders, coming off their first loss of the season to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football, are advising fans to get in their seats by 12 noon Sunday, an hour before the kickoff between the Silver & Black and the Chicago Bears.

Angel’s stunt is so secretive that it “is being kept under wraps while safety crews work behind the scenes.”
Angel did offer this PR nugget, quoted in the press release as saying the stunt “is going to be a truly notable performance that is very personal to me and my family.”
Here’s a little more that could explain why Angel is doing the stunt:
“The acclaimed illusionist’s act pregame is personal and will be aligned with the NFL’s ‘Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer’ initiative to support the American Cancer Society’s call for early detection and risk reduction across multiple types of cancers. Angel’s son, Johnny Crisstopher, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2015 at 20 months old. To raise awareness of pediatric cancer and provide funds for research, treatment, and – ultimately – a cure, the Johnny Crisstopher Children’s Charitable Foundation was created. Prior to his performance, a never-before-seen preview clip of the new documentary “1095,” which chronicles Johnny Crisstopher and the family’s battle against this disease, will be shown in the stadium.”
