After the Las Vegas Raiders required all fans at Raiders games inside Allegiant Stadium to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, about 700 season ticket holders representing 1,800 tickets told the NFL team they want a refund or they advised the team to roll over their season tickets to the 2022 season, team President Dan Ventrelle said Tuesday.
Those 1,800 tickets were then sold for the Sept. 13 Monday Night Football game at the stadium where the Raiders defeated the Ravens, 33-27, in overtime in the season-opener. The Raiders followed up that win with a victory in Pittsburgh two days ago when the Silver & Black defeated the Steelers by nine points, 26-17.
The Raiders will continue to have their proof of vaccination tent for Sunday’s game when the Raiders host the Miami Dolphins at 1 PM. The alternate screening tent in a parking lot outside the stadium off Hacienda Avenue and Polaris Avenue will be open 9 AM – 2 PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Ventrelle said.

While the Raiders can fit 65,000 fans into the domed stadium for a football game, the true sellout number for the Raiders game on MNF Sept. 13 was closer to 62,000 because the Raiders are not selling standing room only tickets, Ventrelle said. The sellout attendance was 61,756 for that Sept. 13 game at Allegiant Stadium. All Raiders home games this season are sold out, Ventrelle said.
The Buffalo Bills last week also said fans age 12 and older will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend Bills home games this season. For Bills home games on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, fans will be permitted to enter with one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Beginning with the Oct. 31 game, guests must be fully vaccinated to attend a home game. Media reports said 762 Bills season ticket holders requested refunds.
