I had one thought when I saw the NFL Draft in Cleveland this week.

Las Vegas.

This NFL special event show is coming to Las Vegas in 2022 in one year after the NFL Draft was scrubbed a year ago because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The plans were in place.  The Draft was going to use the Caesars Forum for the player pick announcements and a red carpet on a temporary stage in the Bellagio fountains with players reaching the stage by boat.

Fun times. For 2022.

The Raiders picked an offensive tackle from Alabama with their 17th overall pick in the first round Thursday. Alex Leatherwood, a versatile offensive lineman, will likely be a member of the Raiders’ revamped offensive line. Many Draft talkers had projected Leatherwood as a second round pick.

  • Round 1: No. 17 – Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama.
  • Round 2: No. 48.
  • Round 3: No. 79 (from AZ)
  • Round 3: No. 80.
  • Round 4: No. 121.
  • Round 5: No. 162 (from MIA)
  • Round 5: No. 167 (from SEA)
  • Round 6: No. 200
