When LVSportsBiz.com just started in June 2017, a talented photographer, Daniel Clark, decided to hop along for the ride.
I remembered Daniel from my Review-Journal days and admired that Daniel’s discreet photography approach yielded impactful photos. His pictures had nuance, distinctness and power to them.
He joined me in covering the launch of the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017-18, from the emotional first regular season home game on Oct. 10, 2017 right down to the final games of the season when the Knights lost to the Washington Capitals in five games June 7, 2018.
The NHL gave a special “roaming” photo credential to LVSportsBiz.com and Daniel to take photos of the Stanley Cup Finals from vantage points all around the arena. Take a look.
I loved the light, the composition, the emotions on the faces in the photos. Daniel went on to do some great work for The Nevada Independent and another photographer, J. Tyge O’Donnell, stepped up to take wonderful photos of the Golden Knights games for LVSportsBiz.com.
But on Sunday with Tyge unavailable with a previous commitment, it’s back to the future for the LVSportsBiz photo scene because Daniel is returning for old times sake and will be at T-Mobile Arena for the Golden Knights vs Arizona Coyotes game. Daniel also photographed a previous Vegas vs Arizona game on Oct. 10, 2017 when the Knights played their first ever regular season home game as a franchise a mere nine days after the Oct. 1, 2017 mass shooting on the Strip that killed nearly 60 and injured more than 500.
Perhaps you remember some of the scenes captured by Daniel from that first home game.
See you Sunday. Daniel will be back to take a few photos.
