It’s still unknown whether fans can attend UNLV football games at new Allegiant Stadium starting Oct. 31.
But if you want a presence at UNLV games — even if it’s in cardboard form — UNLV has a deal for you.
UNLV’s sports department says it’s unveiling a new “Football Fan Cutout Program,” which allows you to pay $79 for a cutout showing an approved image. Your cutout placement in a seat in the spacious 65,000-seat domed stadium will be on a first-come, first served basis.
UNLV students can purchase a cutout for $49.
The cutouts must be ordered by Oct. 26 to guarantee the cutouts at the Oct. 31 UNLV vs UNR game at 7:30PM.
“It is . . . intended to be a fun, light-hearted way to bring joy and excitement amidst the difficult circumstances we are all facing,” said John Gladchuk, UNLV senior associate athletics director for external affairs.
UNLV has requested the state allow 10 percent of the stadium’s seats — or 6,500 seats — to be used by fans. But there’s no word yet from the state whether the UNLV coronavirus protocol proposal is acceptable or not.
