Garth Brooks Concert At Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium Moved From Aug. 22 To Feb. 27

Even Garth Brooks, as popular as the country music singer may be, can’t beat the novel coronavirus.

Brooks has rescheduled his Aug. 22 concert to inaugurate the Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium to Feb. 27 because of the COVID-19 pandemic that has claimed the lives of 150,000 Americans.

All tickets that were sold in a mere 75 minutes back in March will be honored on the new concert date in February at the 65,000-seat domed stadium that is operated by the Raiders. The stadium is scheduled to be completed in two days.

Las Vegas has experienced a sharp increase in novel coronavirus cases since the casinos and hotels re-opened in early June and bars in Las Vegas are not even allowed to be open.

It was doubtful during the pandemic that Brooks would be allowed to cram 65,000 fans into a closed building like the domed Raiders venue when bars are still closed and gatherings are discouraged in Las Vegas with the pandemic continuing to devastate the Southern Nevada economy.

Two UNLV football games against Pac-12 teams Cal and Arizona State were also scrubbed from the Allegiant Stadium schedule because the Pac-12 eliminated non-conference games in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
