Veteran Las Vegas Photographer Tom Donoghue Captures Images Of Thunderbirds’ Aerial Salute To Health Care Workers

(Publisher’s note: In these difficult, anxious and trying times of living through a virus pandemic, LVSportsBiz.com will publish stories that might be off-topic but contain so many terrific photos that they deserve a platform — and these images have found a home here today.)

Photographer Tom Donoghue is a photographer’s photographer, a talented veteran photographer who has worked every sport around, from Super Bowls to Detroit Tigers games to every sports event in Las Vegas.

He captured terrific images Saturday afternoon when the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds took to the sky in the Las Vegas valley for a dramatic 25-minute low-altitude salute to America’s health care workers, doctors, nurses and first responders who are treating tens of thousands of Americans infected with the COVID-19 virus and dying from this novel coronavirus strain. More than 20,000 Americans have lost their lives to this worldwide virus, including at least 112 deaths in the state of Nevada.

Please enjoy’s Tom’s photos. Thank you Thunderbirds and much gratitude to the doctors, nurses, health care providers and those working at essential jobs like food clerks and truck drivers. We’re in this together. Stay safe, please isolate as much as possible and be smart of being own person risk management boss.
