The UNLV basketball shooters were reigning three-point field goals upon a shell-shocked Colorado State squad during the first half Tuesday night and one fan in the alumni section kept on screaming, “Fight song,!” “Fight song,!” “Fight song.”

The UNLV band couldn’t play at that moment because there was a promotion that had to be done during that break late in the first half. But the first half ended with the Runnin’ Rebels blasting Colorado State, 51-29.

Guard Amauri Hardy had 11 points and six assists.

And someone was happy in the alumni section.

UNLV was red hot in the first half, piling up 51 points before cruising to an easy 80-56 win over of the Colorado State Rams. The Rebels evened their season record at 14-14, including 9-6 in the Mountain West Conference. Colorado State is 18-10 overall and tied with UNLV in the conference at 9-6.

Bryce Hamilton poured in 25 points, while Elijah Mitrou-Long added 16 points. Amauri Hardy chipped in with 11 points. UNLV shot 33 of 66 from the field, including 10 of 24 from three-point land.

Here’s Bryce Hamilton, who scored 25 points
