With the stadium roof completion set for May, the construction company team overseeing the Raiders stadium project in Las Vegas made big strides by completing the roof’s “Big Lift” this week.

Mortsenson/McCarthy, the two building contractors teaming up on the $1.97 billion raiders stadium project, posted on Twitter that the cables that create the base for the translucent roof are in position.

Here’s a look at the Mortenson/McCarthy Twitter post:

Raiders stadium pointman Don Webb said the Allegiant Stadium roof installation is a month behind schedule. But he said at the last stadium authority board meeting that the roof should be done by mid-May.

And Webb insisted the 65,000-seat venue will be completed by July 31.

Two of the world’s biggest names in soccer — Barcelona and Real Madrid — are reportedly looking at staging a game at Allegiant Stadium this summer. The Barcelona-Real Madrid game might also be staged at the new NFL Rams-Chargers football stadium in Los Angeles.
