Sports gamblers wagered nearly $154.7 million at Nevada’s 190 sports books on Sunday’s Super Bowl 54, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board Tuesday.

The sports books won $18,774,148 on wagers totaling $154,679,241, resulting in a hold percentage of 12.1 percent, according to Sandra Morgan, Nevada gaming control board chairwoman.

The total wagers were more than 2019, but lower than the 2018 total. Take a look at the last 10 years of Super Bowl betting numbers in Nevada. The sports books’ win percentage of 12.1 percent in 2020 was the highest since the 16.5 percent of 2014 when Seattle routed Denver, 43-8.

Jay Kornegay, who oversees the Westgate SuperBook, observed: “The overall hold percentage was a lot higher than I expected. I believe the strip properties had a very favorable result and Northern Nevada cleaned up with the 49ers falling short.”
