A VGK two-game weekend win streak ended abruptly Tuesday when the Nashville Predators scored four straight goals after the Knights jumped out to a 2-1 lead.

The Golden Knights’ 5-2 loss means Vegas dropped to 4-3 on the young season. Attendance was announced at 18,188.

Mark Stone scored the Knights’ first goal before winger Reilly Smith gave the Knights a 2-1 lead in period one. Both Stone and Smith each scored their fifth goals of the season.

Things went downhill from there for the Knights. Four straight goals by Nashville sealed the Preds’ win.

Smith summarized the loss in a postgame interview at his locker:

Knights coach Gerard Gallant’s three-minute, 30-second presser after loss:

Neither Carrot Top nor the Vegas showgirls were going to deliver victory tonight.

Knights not money tonight.

With the high-profile Global Gaming Expo (G2E) show in Las Vegas this week, the VGK announced a sponsorship deal with international gaming manufacturer IGT. The company is incorporated in the UK, but has operational headquarters in Las Vegas with about 1,000 employees.

The Golden Knights corporate sponsorships chief Jim Frevola stopped by LVSportsBiz.com’s Top of the Escalator pregame segment to explain that IGT fit well in the local gaming and casino sponsor category for the Knights.

Check the interview here:

Frevola said with so many key casinos and gaming developers, the team is not in the position to give exclusivity to any corporate partner. IGT has a major presence at this week’s G2E show at the Sands Expo convention center.

Gaming company AGS, a competitor of IGT,  is also a Golden Knights corporate sponsor under a three-year sponsorship deal. AGS has a play of the knight activation at T-Mobile Arena.

VGK flagman Matt Helfst offered an update on his flag-waving situation on the plaza outside of T-Mobile Arena. He was escorted off the plaza on the Knights’ opening day two weeks ago. He was warned to keep his 17-foot-long flagpole away from people and he’s back in action on the plaza.
