UNLV and UCLA Start 2-Game Home-and-Home Basketball Series

 

UNLV basketball is trying to juice up the non-conference schedule to make it more attractive for fans. UNLV Athletic Director Desiree Reed-Francois announced Tuesday that the Runnin’ Rebels will play a home-and-home series with UCLA with a game at Pauley Pavilion Nov. 15 and a return game for Thomas & Mack Center on Nov. 17, 2020. UNLV hoops home season tickets cost as low as $119. UNLV also has home-and-home series with Cal, SMU and Kansas State. The Rebs are now being coached by T.J. Otzelberger, who is making the rounds in meet-and-greets.

Golden Knights Announce 2019 Development Camp For June 25-29

 

The Vegas Golden Knights will be using both ice sheets at City National Arena for a Development Camp set for late June — from June 25 through Saturday, June 29. All on-ice practice sessions of the Development Camp are open to the public and the media. Development Camp participants and Golden Knights staff members will partake in a special community service event on June 25 and details of that community event will be announced later. Flash Seats tickets will be required for all joint scrimmages on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Complimentary tickets, reserved seating and VIP experiences will be available on vegasgoldenknights.com the week of June 10. Golden Knights season ticket members will have a presale opportunity before tickets are available to the general public. The full roster for the Development Camp will be announced once the roster is confirmed following the 2019 NHL Draft. Here’s the sked:

Tickets Are 10 Bucks For Soccer Tourney Game Wednesday

 

The Las Vegas Lights FC soccer team is promoting Wednesday’s tournament game at Cashman Field. It’s the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, billed, as America’s longest-running soccer tournament. Thee Lights FC will play for the opportunity to continue advancing in the competition by taking on NPSL amateur side Orange County FC at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow. The winner will advance to the Fourth Round and face a Major League Soccer opponent.  Tickets are $10 and there’s a kids clinic for children 5-12 before the match.

Aviators Pool Sold Out

 

The Las Vegas Aviators web site reports that the ballpark centerfield swimming pool, which costs $2,000 to rent out per game, is sold out for the remainder of the ballyard’s inaugural season. The team’s website has a story on the pool and its popularity.  The $2,000 includes 50 game tickets.

eSports Still Drawing Lukewarm Reception From Gambling Industry

 

Howard Stutz of CDC Gaming Reports reported a a story based on UNLV research showing, “many fans of the video game competitions aren’t concerned about the practice of ‘match-fixing,’ where competitors actually ‘cheat to lose.’
