The sports stadium and professional team world is dominated by two soda brands — Coca-Cola and Pepsi. The duo has nearly all the soda pouring rights with teams and sports venues.
Then along came the Las Vegas Lights FC soccer team that enjoys zagging when all others are zigging.
The Lights have cut an exclusive three-year, six-figure soda pouring rights deal with Jarritos and Novamex, making Jarritos the official soda at Cashman Field, the Lights’ home in downtown Las Vegas.
“This partnership shatters the stranglehold of cola brands on U.S. sports venues,” said Lights FC owner Brett Lashbrook. who has also enjoyed cutting cutting-edge gambling and dispensary sponsorship deals.
“Jarritos is the soda that our fans love. They are tired of the same flavor choices that are constantly pushed down sports fans’ throats. Jarritos is the only partner that offers a rainbow of flavors to match everyone’s desired taste,” Lashbrook said in a statement. “Jarritos’ goal to shake up the static American soda landscape mirrors Lights FC’s ambitions to become the next big American soccer success story.”
Jarritos will also be featured on a patch on Lights team jerseys, while receiving prominent signage and access to Lights FC marks and logos, hospitality opportunities, retail activations and community programs.
This Las Vegas deal will be the centerpiece of year-round promotions by Jarritos, introduced as Mexico’s first national soft drink more than 60 years ago. Jarritos is known for its fruit flavors such as Tamarind, Mandarin, Fruit Punch, Jamaica, Lime, Grapefruit, Guava, Pineapple, Strawberry, Mango, Passion Fruit, and MXCN Cola. The popular soda will also reward lucky consumers with trips to Las Vegas, including VIP experiences with the Lights.
