The Vegas Golden Knights played their final home game of 2018 Thursday night by drawing a massive crowd of 18,505 — the second-year franchise’s second highest regular season attendance as the VGK conquered the Colorado Avalanche in a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

The Golden Knights hit the road for away games in Los Angeles against the Kings Saturday and in Arizona Sunday. The Golden Knights return to T-Mobile Arena Jan. 1 for a New Year’s Day game against the LA Kings. Check out the Jan. 1 ticket deal here.

While the Golden Knights salvaged a point in each of the previous overtime losses on home ice, goalie Marc-Andre Fleury shut the door in the final minutes Thursday as the VGK killed two penalties in the final six minutes to hang onto the lead and emerge with two points in the standings.

The Knights are 21-15-4, good for 46 points and third place in the competitive Pacific Division.

Check out interviews with VGK center Paul Stastny, who scored the Knights’ first goal, and forward Brandon Pirri, who scored the game-winner.
