The Vegas Golden Knights may be off to a struggling start in the standings, but it hasn’t hurt home attendance as the Knights are filling T-Mobile Arena to 105.3 percent of capacity — good for the second highest attendance capacity in the National Hockey League.
The Golden Knights defeated the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-0, at the big Ice House on the Strip, with an announced attendance of 18,328 — slightly more than the average attendance of 18,289 after six home dates going into Saturday night’s game. Update: After Saturday night’s game, the Golden Knights average attendance stands at 18,294 — an impressive number when you consider that official VGK capacity is 17,367 at T-Mobile Arena.
The Golden Knights hit the road for four games: in Toronto, Tuesday; in Ottawa, Thursday; in Montreal, next Saturday and in Boston, Nov. 11. The VGK’s next home game is Nov. 14 when the Anaheim Ducks visit T-Mobile Arena.
The Golden Knights are now 6-7-1 after the shutout win, which means free doughnuts for VGK fans at Krispy Kreme outlets. It’s the 50th career shutout for Marc-Andre Fleury. These two Fleury photos by J. Tyge O’Donnell for LVSportsBiz.com.
The Golden Knights received goals from defenseman Brad Hunt and hard-hitting fourth liners Ryan Reaves and William Carrier.

A nice touch to start the game was Shriners Hospitals for Children national celebrity patient ambassador, Kechi Okwuchi, singing the national anthem before the start of the game. The Shriners Hospitals for Children Open wraps up at TPC Summerlin Sunday.
