Golden Knights Show Chivalrous Behavior To All Living Creatures — Even Pomeranians

Chivalry is not dead — and even if you’re a Pomeranian dog looking to be adopted you can get some pretty good treatment from a local knight these days.
The Vegas Golden Knights players are getting involved in the local canine world in Las Vegas.
The first-year NHL team is partnering with the Animal Foundation to start the adoption process of dozens of Pomeranian dogs that were rescued from the back of a U-Haul truck in Sandy Valley Nov. 30. There were 164 dogs recovered in the abandoned truck without food, water and ventilation in the small Sandy Valley community, which is south of Las Vegas near Primm and the California state line.
On Monday, the Golden Knights and the Animal Foundation will work together on a “Pucks for Paws” event at City National Arena in Summerlin, the team’s practice facility and headquarters.
The adoption event begins at 11 a.m. Monday when five dogs will be auctioned off and there will be an opportunity to adopt 10 more dogs following the Golden Knights practice.
Golden Knights players will help in the live auction and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, the team’s non-profit arm, will contribute money to allow for one free chance to adopt one of the 10 dogs.
Discounted entries for additional chances to adopt one of the Pomeranians will start at $20.
There will also be an online promotion to help adoptions of the remaining majority of the dogs launched at Monday’s event.
The Golden Knights are active in Las Vegas. Players visited blood donors after the tragic Oct. 1 mass shooting on the Strip rocked the Las Vegas. They skated with fans at an ice rink at a hotel-casino on the Strip. They even skated with National Finals Rodeo Canadian cowboys last week.
