Golden Knights Mascot Coming Your Way; Team Embeds Season Ticketholder Names in the Ice

By ALAN SNEL

Everything has a sponsor these days.

Even team mascots.

Next week we will be treated to the Vegas Golden Knights’ unveiling of the NHL team’s mascot.

It’s a mascot sponsored by GEICO.

The mascot will be shown to fans at a team Fan Fest outside The D Las Vegas at the 3rd Street Stage along the Fremont Street Experience Oct. 3.

The D is also a sponsor — it’s the Golden Knights’ official downtown casino partner.

Fan Fest is free and open to the public from 6-8 p.m.  Owner Bill Foley, team President Kerry Bubolz, coach Gerard Gallanta and The D casino owner Derek Stevens will join Golden Knights players at Fan Fest.

The Golden Knights are also embedding the names of all the team’s season ticket holders into the ice at T-Mobile area. The team’s website showed photos of workers embedding the names.

The names should be ready when the Golden Knights play their first home pre-season game Tuesday.
