The Golden Knights' training facility, officially called City National Arena, opens later this summer.

Golden Knights Cut Naming Rights Deal for Practice Facility, Calling it City National Arena

By ALAN SNEL

The Vegas Golden Knights have cut a naming rights deal with a Los Angeles-based bank for the hockey team’s new practice facility on Pavilion Center Drive near Red Rock Resort.

The building, which is scheduled to open this summer, will be called City National Arena. It’s a multi-year deal with City National receiving branding at the practice facility and also exposure at T-Mobile Arena, the team’s home ice behind New York-New York on the Strip.

Golden Knights majority owner Bill Foley said City National Bank was a good corporate partner for the naming rights agreement because the bank is committed to growing hockey in southern Nevada.

City National Bank CEO Russell Goldsmith said the bank likes the deal because the practice facility arena will also be a local community resource, used for open public skating and youth hockey leagues.

City National Arena will include two NHL-sized ice rinks while also serving as the team’s headquarters. There’s a City National Bank only two blocks away along Pavilion Center Drive.

City National Bank has 72 offices in the Los Angeles and San Francisco markets in California, Nevada, New York, Atlanta, Nashville and Minneapolis. The 72 offices also include 17 full-service regional centers, according to the bank’s website.
